My dog of 13 years has congestive heart failure, hasn’t eaten in a week, and barely walks anymore. Tomorrow I will have him put down. He has been the best dog and friend a person could ask for. He has been a part of our life for our entire marriage. We got him as a puppy a few months before we got married. He has traveled with us on all sorts of crazy adventures. Our little chunk of property has been his retirement. He seemed to wait until we got here, settled in, and got another dog to watch over us and then he seemed to say, “Okay, I’m done now.”
I am very sad about losing my friend but I will be glad when he is done suffering. He cannot feel good right now. He is far enough along he won’t even take treats or people food. This means he won’t even take his medicine now.
Not much else to say. He’s the best dog I’ve ever had and I will miss him dearly.
